The Volunteer Youth Corps is a voluntary, non-government and not-for–profit company made up of a group of dynamic young people who dedicate their time talents and energy towards the development of the health, economic and social sectors in Guyana.
Created To Care
On December 14, 1996, Volunteer Youth Corps (VYC) was launched. VYC was launched against a backdrop of deteriorating care in the health sector and in particular at Guyana’s primary health care institution-Georgetown Hospital. VYC started out as a group of youth going to GeorgetownHospital providing psychosocial support to people hospitalized mainly from low income or middle-income families.
