The STEM Program has been implemented by Volunteer Youth Corps Inc since 2012. With the endorsement from the Ministry of Education and support from ExxonMobil, the organisation is helping to improve the Science, Technology , Engineering and Math skills of High school youth in a number of schools in region 4. The program uses the existing school curriculum, grades 9 and 10 teachers and various interactive activities to expand the learning of students. The primary subjects taught include: Human and Social Biology, Biology, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Physics and Chemistry.

During the month of September, the organisation is working to expand the program to reach 500 students in regions 3 and 4.

Distribution of Clothing to the Poor – VYC distributed a number of items to poor households in Sophia and Lodge. While accessing other services from the organisation, many youth were able to benefit from items such as baby clothing, child and adult clothing. Items are usually donated to Drop In centre, The Red Cross Children’s Home, Amerindian Hostel and at the Georgetown Public Hospital Pediatric ward.
